Run 921
Post RWC final, Post Nice to Cannes Marathon, Post Apocalyptic?

Date: Sunday 3rd October 2019

Time: 15:00 for 15:30 start

WHERE: ANTIBES, Port Vauban

HHHi Fellow Hashers

The Hash this Sunday, 3rd November, will be an afternoon hash to accommodate the group of UK and Riviera hashers that will run the Nice to Cannes Marathon (or 20 km option for the wimps like me) in the morning.

Where: Antibes, Port Vauban

Start: Meet at 3 pm for 3.30 pm start

The starting point will be the Port Vauban near the old town and we will meet by the big Ferris wheel which dominates the landscape. This is the perfect Hash to get to by train, Antibes train station is a  5 minute walk to the start (follow the blue chalk). If you are arriving by car, car sharing would make sense as free parking is limited.

For those coming by car there is big free car park (Parking Relais) on Avenue du 11 November (this is 500 m closer to the starting point than the Fort Carre car park that we used in the Summer, which is now closed – ( aka full pikeys? ed).

Please note that on the first Sunday of each month the road is closed between Fort Carre and La Siesta, so you will need to approach the parking from the Antibes direction and not the Biot direction.

The Parking Relais is on the left just passed the BP garage on the right, you will need to go just passed the entrance to the parking before you can turn left, then immediate right in to the car park. If this parking is full, there is free on street parking on a Sunday, but could take a while to find.

Strongly advise giving yourself plenty of time to find parking, as a last resort there is paid parking at the train station, which is much cheaper than parking in the Port or in the new underground car park by the Port. Last Sunday, the free shuttle was still running from the Parking Relais, but it is a short walk to the starting point (just follow the blue chalk).

The trail will be mainly flat, but very scenic, as there will be a few tired legs out there.

The restaurant for the On On will be the La Cascade, which is in the same square where we ate in the Summer, but the restaurant we used then is now closed. The meal is booked for 6.30 pm, but we can arrive earlier, if that fits better.

Meal: Steak and chips or fish option, dessert and wine. Cost 20 Euros.

If you plan to stay for the meal let Supermarket Trolley know by Thursday evening, with your choice for the main meal.
